Where farm animals or even wild animals make use of the dam, you will
take measures to ensure the animals do not damage the liner. There are
two basic ways to do this. The most preferable way is to erect a fence
around the dam and pump water to a trough. Otherwise the liner should be
covered by geotextile and at least 300 mm of gravel whereever an animal
can walk in the dam.
